The March Madness pool began in 2008, with additional pools added over time, including the Conference Tournament pool (2015 - Current), the College Football Playoff pool (2024 - Current), and the NIT Pool (2015 - 2025). Coming in 2027, the College World Series pool will join the lineup.

The Coal Region Bracket Pool name originated early on and has stuck over the years, becoming a recognizable part of the pools.
